Two Gibbons Directors Speak at the Hedge Fund Association New York Symposium

R. Scott Garley and Mark S. Sidoti, both Directors in the Business & Commercial Litigation Department at Gibbons P.C., participated in a symposium on “Mitigating Risks Caused by Rogue Employees,” presented by the Hedge Fund Association (HFA) on June 28, 2016 at The Harvard Club in New York.

Joining Mr. Garley and Mr. Sidoti on the panel were Paul Neale, Chief Executive Officer of DOAR, Inc., and Lisa Roitman, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of Litespeed Management LLC. The four panelists discussed the current business environment and steps companies can take to prevent, mitigate, and respond to critical asset theft and other risks posed by insiders. Gibbons also served as host and sponsor of the symposium with DOAR, Inc.

At Gibbons, Mr. Garley is Co-Administrative Director of the firm’s New York Office. He leads the firm’s Securities Litigation Team and serves as co-leader of the Private Equity and Hedge Fund Team, as well as a member of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act Compliance Committee. He focuses his practice on litigation, arbitration, investigations, and counseling in connection with securities transactions and regulatory matters; directors and officers liability and corporate governance matters; executive compensation and employment matters; business tort claims; and complex commercial disputes.

Mr. Sidoti’s varied litigation practice focuses on business and healthcare litigation of all types. He has handled high stakes cases in various business areas, as well as high profile catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and wrongful birth cases in the corporate medical arena, specifically in the clinical laboratory industry. In addition, as Chair of the Gibbons E-Discovery Task Force, Mr. Sidoti heads an interdisciplinary group that provides counseling, training, and litigation-related assistance to companies on a full range of information management and e-discovery matters.
