Gibbons P.C. congratulates Jennifer Phillips Smith, Co-Chair of the firm’s Real Property Group, on being included on the ROI-NJ “Influencers: Real Estate 2024” list in the Service Providers category. A weekly newspaper covering business in New Jersey, ROI-NJ compiles the annual list to honor “the best in the sector – those whose influence will be felt for years to come.”

Of Ms. Smith, who was among 27 honorees in her category, the publication writes: “An expert at obtaining development and redevelopment approvals for large, mixed-use projects, she specializes in land use, redevelopment, transactional real estate, liquor licensing, affordable housing, environmental permitting and regulatory matters.”

Indeed, Ms. Smith is lead land use attorney on several of New Jersey’s largest, most high-profile development and redevelopment projects, including a $2.5 billion redevelopment considered the largest mixed-use development in state history; the transformation of Asbury Park’s Waterfront; and the development of a 206,000-square-foot industrial building at a former paper mill site.

In her legal practice, she helps New Jersey businesses expand and optimize markets and operations through development and redevelopment of real property for their facilities, counseling clients on matters ranging from redevelopment projects that span hundreds of acres to issues impacting small-business owners; representing clients regarding mixed-use, industrial, restaurant, residential, retail, office, medical, educational, and senior living projects; and maintaining a niche practice in liquor licensing and alcoholic beverage control.

Ms. Smith has also been listed among NJBIZ’s “Best 50 Women in Business” and recognized by Chambers USA, New Jersey Law Journal, New Jersey Super Lawyers, and other leading publications.
