Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons P.C., and Noreen M. Giblin, Counsel in the Gibbons Government Affairs Department, have been named among the 2015 “Irish American Leaders of New Jersey.” This list, published annually by PolitickerNJ, includes statewide business, government, and civic leaders who demonstrate a commitment to their Irish heritage.

This year’s feature recognizes the 80th anniversary of the Newark St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the state’s oldest parade honoring Irish heritage. In 2013, Mr. Dunican served as Grand Marshal of the Newark Parade, while Ms. Giblin served as his Chief of Staff.

“This recognition highlights not only our personal Irish heritage, but also the Irish heritage of Gibbons and many of its founders and leaders, which has defined the firm since its founding in 1926,” says Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of the firm.

During Mr. Dunican’s tenure, the firm has joined the Am Law 200 and grown into a Mid-Atlantic regional powerhouse. In 2014, the New Jersey Law Journal named Gibbons the “General Litigation Practice of the Year,” highlighting the firm’s multidisciplinary litigation strength. Mr. Dunican’s focus on marketing and branding earned Gibbons a place as the only law firm featured in Steve Adubato’s book, You Are the Brand. Mr. Dunican’s four grandparents were born in Counties Sligo, Mayo, and Donegal.

Ms. Giblin has been a member of the Gibbons Government Affairs Department, New Jersey’s top lawyer-lobbying practice, for seven years. Before joining Gibbons, she served as Chief of Staff to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. former Director of Executive Office Operations for Governor Jon S. Corzine, and, before that, State Director to United States Senator Frank R. Lautenberg. Ms. Giblin is active with several Irish American organizations, including the Giblin Association. She was named the Essex County “Irishwoman of the Year” during their Irish Heritage Month celebration in 2006.
