For over a decade, Gibbons has supported the Kessler Foundation’s Stroll ’n’ Roll Fall Fest, an annual “day of fun, food, and friendship to champion rehabilitation research and employment for people with disabilities.” The uplifting and inspiring event, held this year on September 29 on the Kessler West Orange campus, brings together people of all ages and abilities for strolling and rolling.

Robert E. Rudnick, an Intellectual Property Director at Gibbons, chairs the Kessler Foundation’s Stroll ’n’ Roll Fall Fest organizing committee and spearheads the firm’s sponsorship of the event. This year, for the second year in a row, Gibbons served as a “Presenting Sponsor,” which funds the participation of an individual with spinal cord injury in a transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation (tSCS) research study. tSCS is defined in an article appearing on the National Center for Biotechnology Information website as “a non-invasive modality in which electrodes can stimulate spinal circuitries and facilitate a motor response.”

Gibbons staff made individual donations, and many joined Mr. Rudnick at the event, at which the firm had a booth to gift Gibbons swag to participants and spectators. Mr. Rudnick also honored the late Congressmen Bill Pascrell Jr. and Donald Payne Jr. with plaque dedications at Kessler Foundation’s research center commemorating their steadfast support of Kessler Foundation and tireless advocacy for federal funding to advance comprehensive and groundbreaking rehabilitation research for those affected by traumatic brain and spinal cord injury. David J. Pascrell, Chair of the firm’s Government & Regulatory Affairs Group, was present for the plaque dedication and accepted a corresponding Steuben crystal gift in honor of his father.

“Gibbons has been a generous longtime sponsor of Stroll ’n’ Roll. Every dollar raised by this important event helps people with disabilities return to their homes and communities and the workplace,” said Mr. Rudnick. “Many thanks to the firm and to the Gibbons Team for their kindness and support.”
