Gibbons Sponsors 2016 CowaLUNGa Bike Tour

Gibbons P.C. is proud to once again sponsor the Respiratory Health Association’s (RHA) 20th CowaLUNGa Bike Tour, a three-day bike tour that benefits the RHA in its mission to prevent lung disease, promote clean air, and help people live better through education, research, and policy change. David E. De Lorenzi, Chair of the Gibbons Intellectual Property Department, will once again be riding as a member of the Pactiv Co./Reynolds Consumer Products team.

Since 2013, Gibbons has been a sponsor of the CowaLUNGa Bike Tour, which starts on August 6 at the Gurnee Mills Shopping Mall and travels into Wisconsin with overnight stops in William’s Bay and Whitewater, finishing on August 8 in Hubertus, Wisconsin. The tour offers two-day, one-day, and 18 mile ride options, as well.

Mr. De Lorenzi was first inspired to join the bike tour through the efforts of Joseph Doyle, Group Legal Counsel of Reynolds Group Holdings Limited, and his then 15-year-old daughter, Sara, who were looking for a bike race that they could ride in together. Mr. Doyle quickly informed many of his colleagues and, eventually, Mr. De Lorenzi, with whom Mr. Doyle and Reynolds have a longstanding professional relationship.

During a recent interview conducted by the RHA, Mr. De Lorenzi noted, “Like Reynolds, the Gibbons firm culture is very community oriented,” and “we are involved with many charitable causes, largely on the East Coast, and so when I heard about what Joe and his teammates were doing in the Midwest, I thought it would be great to support their efforts and get involved. It’s been incredibly rewarding for me, enjoyable, and the firm is pleased to be a part of it.”
