Gibbons Managing Director Peter Torcicollo Featured on NJBIZ Power 100 List for 2022

NJBIZ, one of the leading publications covering business in New Jersey, has published its annual Power 100 list of the most influential people in New Jersey business, which features Peter J. Torcicollo, Managing Director of Gibbons P.C.

Of Mr. Torcicollo, NJBIZ notes:

Torcicollo just took the helm at Gibbons PC as managing director Feb. 1 after longtime leader Patrick Dunican became executive chair. But Torcicollo is far from a newbie. He’s been with the firm as a litigator for nearly three decades and for a long time has co-chaired its commercial and criminal litigation group. Torcicollo’s legal accomplishments include securing a settlement allowing the American Dream megamall to move forward without inconveniencing the New York Jets or Giants, who had raised alarm bells that the mall may cause major traffic and parking problems. But his inclusion on this list is more to do with his new leadership position at the firm that the state Election Law Enforcement Commission determined has been the top lawyer-lobbying firm in the state for well over a decade.

Mr. Torcicollo assumed the position of Managing Director on February 1, 2022. He joined Gibbons as an associate in 1993 after earning degrees from Bucknell University and Rutgers School of Law – Newark, leaving for one year to serve as judicial clerk to the Honorable Alfred J. Lechner, Jr., U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. He was promoted to Director in 2000 and became a member of the Executive Committee in 2010. When the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation Group merged with the Criminal Defense Group in 2018, he became Co-Chair of the newly formed Commercial & Criminal Litigation Group, the firm’s largest and most wide-ranging practice group. He has held numerous other managerial and leadership positions at Gibbons, which has included leading the firm’s construction litigation practice, serving as the firm’s hiring partner for over 15 years, and continuing to serve on the Partnership Screening Committee. Most notably, Mr. Torcicollo served as Director of Professional Development, Retention, and Associate Recruitment for over 15 years, playing a key role in the elimination of the firm’s summer associate program in favor of aggressive recruitment of lawyers who had completed judicial clerkships. He was directly involved in the hiring of more than 60 current Gibbons attorneys and indirectly involved in far more.
