Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) has again ranked the Intellectual Property Group at Gibbons P.C. among “The World’s Leading Patent Professionals,” granting the firm its “Gold Band” rating for practices whose “success hinges on reputations established over lengthy periods of time, something which enables them to secure the most high-profile, big-ticket instructions from the most demanding of clients.”

Gibbons is one of only three Gold Band firms in New Jersey. The 2024 edition marks the 14th straight year IAM has recognized David De Lorenzi, Chair of Gibbons’ Intellectual Property Group, and the firm.

In addition to Mr. De Lorenzi, six other Gibbons attorneys – Thomas J. Bean, Charles H. Chevalier, Samuel H. Megerditchian, Robert E. Rudnick, Christopher H. Strate, and Estelle J. Tsevdos – were recommended individually among IAM’s leading patent practitioners, spanning the litigation, prosecution, and transactions categories. As in past years, Gibbons has the largest number of ranked attorneys among New Jersey firms.

To compile the IAM Patent 1000, the IAM team conducts extensive research over the course of five months, entailing thousands of interviews with industry specialists worldwide, “resulting in the definitive directory exclusively dedicated to identifying the world’s leading patent service providers.”

The publication notes:

      • David De Lorenzi’s “specialties in the life sciences, telecommunications and consumer products fields place him well to assist with acquisition and protection strategies that align with the business goals of his following.”
      • Thomas Bean offers “acquisition … and prosecution know-how to companies from a range of industries.”
      • Charles Chevalier “is representing multiple patrons against claims of infringement.”
      • Estelle Tsevdos, focused on pharma and biotech patent prosecution, helped secure “a major victory” for a client.
      • Robert Rudnick “receives high praise from clients.”
      • Samuel Megerditchian, accomplished in prosecution, is also admired by clients.
      • Christopher Strate “utilizes his engineering experience to provide profound validity and infringement advice for related patents, and represents patrons in federal courts across the country.”

“As always, we are incredibly proud of IAM’s esteemed worldwide rankings,” remarked David E. De Lorenzi, Chair of Gibbons’s IP Group. “As IAM further noted in its evaluation, ‘commercially minded Gibbons provides “client-focused and pragmatic” advice and [skill] to its clientele’ – the hallmarks of our firm’s IP practice and the firm generally. We are very grateful to the many clients who took the time to share with IAM their experiences working with Gibbons, and we are honored to be among their trusted IP advisors.”
