The Hon. Noel L. Hillman (Ret.), Chair of the Gibbons P.C. Alternative Dispute Resolution Group, has been included on the 2025 Leaders in Law list, compiled by NJBIZ, one of New Jersey’s premier business news publications. Honorees were feted at a ceremony on March 25 at The Marigold in Somerset, New Jersey, and will be profiled in a special supplement to an upcoming issue of NJBIZ.
Judge Hillman was recognized in a new category: third-party neutral professionals, including mediators, arbitrators, conciliators, evaluators, etc. At Gibbons, he leads a team with decades of experience in numerous areas of disputes, including commercial, construction, intellectual property, employment and labor relations, antitrust, bankruptcy, probate, financial services, and more. His nearly two decades-long service as a U.S. District Judge for the District of New Jersey, which included selecting and overseeing special masters and corporate monitors, lends invaluable perspective to clients as they move through the dispute resolution process.
During his storied career in public service at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Judge Hillman twice received the Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys’ Director’s Award, the DOJ’s highest award honoring line prosecutors, as well as the Attorney General’s Award for Fraud Prevention and Assistant Attorney General’s Award for Outstanding Leadership in Law Enforcement.
NJBIZ launched the Leaders in Law program in 2021 to celebrate law firm attorneys and general counsel for their outstanding dedication to their occupation and communities. Following an open nomination period, honorees were chosen by a panel of independent judges with experience in the justice system. Judge Hillman is among 60 honorees from throughout the state selected this year.
