Featuring: Kelly Ann Bird

The NJSBA, together with Rutgers Law School (Newark), Rutgers Law School (Camden), Seton Hall Law School and Monmouth University, are proud to bring you a first-of-its-kind program about the high courts and the high schools!

For the first time in NJICLE history, law and pre-law students become the educators! Join us for this dynamic program where law students, under the guidance of their distinguished faculty liaisons, provide you with an inspiring overview of 20 landmark cases about students’ rights and jurisprudence. These cases date from 1943 and go all the way up to the present day. The law students will discuss the cases and the law that impact themselves and their peers.

The evening will consist of four separate panels, one from each school. Each panel will consist of 5 students and a staff liaison from the school and will be moderated by a member of the NJSBA Legal Education Committee. These presentations will be interactive, dynamic, and educational.

The cases will cover topics such as the Pledge of Allegiance and saluting the flag to school prayer, drug testing, freedom of speech, censorship of school newspapers, the rights of undocumented students, searches and seizures, and more.

Seize this opportunity to support future lawyers, gain valuable insights and earn CLE credit!
