Speaker, Lawline Webinar, "The Intersection of Environmental Justice and the Business Community in New Jersey"

New Jersey is one of a handful of states at the forefront of the environmental justice movement in America. This program will outline the history of the environmental justice movement in New Jersey, the historic Environmental Justice Law signed by Governor Phil Murphy in 2020 along with the status of the corresponding regulations implementing the new law, and the statewide environmental justice initiative between the State’s Office of the Attorney General and Department of Environmental Protection. This program will benefit attorneys whose work will be impacted by the newly implemented regulations.

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss the history of the environmental justice movement nationwide and in New Jersey

2. Prepare clients to strategically engage the community in advance of projects

3. Predict how the new regulations will impact various communities throughout New Jersey

4. Discuss locations in New Jersey where enforcement actions are more likely to be sought
