While the federal government has been active in rolling back or slowing enforcement of a number of laws impacting employers, state and local governments have been passing legislation at a rapid pace. For example, New York State has enacted a paid family leave law, which takes effect January 1, 2018, and several states and cities have passed pay equity and salary history laws. In addition, workplaces featured in recent headlines have encouraged a national conversation about corporate culture and policies, leading to change reverberating through companies of all nature and sizes.

This webinar will review the developments in local, state, and federal legislation, as well as current events, and their impact on your policies and practices. The final 30 minutes of the webinar will be devoted to a discussion of leave laws, primarily the New York Paid Family Leave Law.
